Cooking my first meal in my new kitchen - on my solid surface cooktop, with the iHome radio cleverly concealed in the cabinet :) #simplejoy
It’s been forever since I posted anything _real_ here - everything was on hold, condensed into brief flashes and photos of the progress being made on the new house. (Is it still new even though we bought it in early December?) But that was the way my whole LIFE felt/feels … on hold.
We’re in the new house, mostly. We’re sleeping here, anyway. Basement Cat and Fortress Cat are now both House Cats, and learning to co-exist. I have the most beautiful kitchen on earth, lacking only a refrigerator and a working dishwasher to be fully functional. My two grown-up sofas look right at home here, they were moved today. No TV yet, but that’s kind of irrelevant since we disconnected our TV services. I have already waxed poetic about the Zen Paradise that is my bathroom, home of The World’s Greatest Shower In The World - but that doesn’t make it less awesome or true.
I am deeply, profoundly in love with my home, even unfinished. The library floor still needs sanding/sealing, and the guest bathroom needs a little work, but every day it feels more and more like the house I fell in love with when it was still buried under dirt and fur and someone else’s furniture. It is becoming what I saw back then, and it’s such a wonderful feeling. Wonderful enough to overlook how much is still left to do :)
I doubt my updates will get any more predictable or coherent, at least not for the foreseeable future. But every now and then, I’ll pop in and share some more condensed moments. Promise.
So apparently my new iPhone thingy WILL talk to this blog as well as Facebook, so as to not leave my mom out of the proverbial loop, but none of my comments about the pictures are coming through … Which makes it a bit incomplete. To sum up the past three - I had a very messy living room, which I cleaned up in 2 hours to prepare for the official carpet cleaning, and this morning I am loving my coffee. Will work on getting more info to transfer.
